ZEV Tech Glock slides at Omaha Outdoors are in stock and ready to ship, representing the latest designs and styles intended to set your Glock apart and make it even more of a performer. Previously offered only with slide cuts designed to accommodate the Trijicon RMR, they’re now additionally offered with cuts for the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro micro red dot sight. Machined in the USA and with tighter tolerances than a factory slide, these are not modified factory slides, but something designed from the ground up to improve upon the original.
Spartan, Prizefighter, or Gunfighter? Why Not All Three
Zev’s most popular slide is the Dragonfly, with its distinctive multiple slide windows along each side of the pistol slide serving to reduce weight and look great at the same time. The Dragonfly can be seen at the range and in competition, but most choose other slide designs for duty or carry use. Competition shooters who fire high volumes of ammunition in a short period of time will appreciate the barrel cooling allowed by the slide windows. These slides are available in Glock 17, 19, and 34 configurations.
Next up is the ZEV Prizefighter, a slide based on the Dragonfly but with dramatically restyled windows. Like the Dragonfly, it is meant for competition or range use and will help competition shooters with its slide weight reduction and barrel cooling effect. Unlike the Dragonfly with its baby rectangle windows, the Prizefighter features two irregular quadrilaterals on the side of each slide. They’re highly distinctive and unlike anything else on the market. Due to their size, the Prizefighter is available only in Glock 17 and Glock 34 configurations/lengths.
ZEV Tech Hex slides are designed for all firearm uses, including duty and carry. They feature a series of hexagonal shapes all over the slide, even the top, giving you excellent and consistent purchase no matter where your hand or fingers grip the slide. Although it would be equally at home on the competition circuit, the hex cuts don’t breach the slide, preventing debris from becoming an issue if a Hex-equipped pistol was used for carry. The Hex is available in Glock 19 and Glock 17 guises.
Developed from a special project, the Spartan slide has distinctive window cuts along the top corners of the slide near the muzzle. They almost look like enhanced compensator cuts, but they’re not meant to match with any particular compensated barrel. Angled front and rear serrations round out the mods to the Spartan, and it’s also available for the G17 and G19.
Finally, there’s the ZEV Gunfighter slide, exclusive to the single stack Glock 43. Unlike all the other slides we’ve discussed, it doesn’t have any optic cuts for the simple reason that the G43 (or Z43, as the Zev modified version is called) isn’t wide enough. That’s not a bad thing, though: the G43/Z43 is extremely concealable and with the addition of the angled forward serrations and dimples of the ZEV Gunfighter slide, you’re assured of easier control under stress.
