Glock 40 Gen4 MOS pistols available online at Omaha Outdoors extend the barrel of the famed Glock 20 to a whopping 6”, extending the slide almost an inch and a half over the older model. Available only in Gen 4 configuration with its improved grip texture and interchangeable backstraps as well as ambidextrous magazine safety and dual captured recoil spring, the G40 is easily controllable and shoots much softer than one would expect for such a powerful gun. The G40 MOS is machined from the factory to accept various red dot sights including the Trijicon RMR, increasing the range and speed at which effective hits may be made with the pistol.
Gun pundits were expecting the pistol released after the G39 to be chambered, naturally, in 40 Smith & Wesson, but Glock one-upped them by releasing the G40 as a long slide 10mm. Fans of 10mm rejoiced, as did handgun hunters and time travelers in need of a pistol to combat the large, aggressive dinosaurs they might encounter when heading to the Jurassic period . The wimpy 40 S&W cartridge was created by neutering 10mm because it was too powerful for most people to handle in the early pistols chambered in 10mm. Lucky for us, pistol development has progressed in the last 30 years, and Glock paid attention to making the G40 as shootable as it could possibly be while firing such a powerful cartridge.
