Tied in with the very birth of the country, firearms have been evolving for hundreds of years now. During that time, there have been some memorable designs and some shooters prefer to hold onto those old designs. Among those, the old west has some of the most memorable rifles, shotguns, and revolvers ever produced. These guns not only worked great in their time, but they also offered a beautiful delivery system for self-defense. Formed back in 1984, Cimarron started out with the clear mission of providing reproduction work of the highest quality. Working from their headquarters in Fredericksburg, Texas, they offer shooters a variety of old west style reproduction models. These range from shotguns and rifles to classic revolvers, all of which are made with modern materials to offer quality construction while still using the original designs to give that iconic look. They continue to work on improving their processes, allowing modern shooters to get a real feel for the past as they operate these beautiful reproduction pieces.
One of the weapons they are best known for is their many revolvers offered for sale. Among these revolvers, you may be interested in the Eliminator series. This features a look that is truly reminiscent of the old cowboy revolver, offered with either a standard blue or stainless steel finish to give it that really authentic look. Whichever finish you choose, the weapon is topped off with checkered walnut grips to give it that extra touch.
The Eliminator features a 4.75” barrel and comes in either .357/.38SPL, or .45LC. It uses a blade front sight and visible hammer that resembles that classic style. If you want something smaller, the Eliminator also offers a 3.5” TS series, which uses .45LC to deliver great performance from a slightly more compact package.
In addition to their Eliminator series, they also offer a variety of other cartridge-style revolvers for sale. These vary in size and caliber and also in overall style. Some use the wooden grips while others have pearl grips available and still other rely on plastic grips to give them more ease of use. One of the more popular models available is the single action Army Model “P,” which offers that family look that you might see in movies or find in museums.
Cimarron also makes some open top revolvers, using both the army and 1872 Army and Navy open top models as the standard in this category. These are just a couple of the military replicas that they offer, as they also produce a US 7th Cavalry and USV Artillery model. If you want something that predates these weapons, you should check out their percussion revolver and conversion revolver selections. Popular options include the: 1848 Model, 1849 Model, 1951 Navy, 1958 Model, and more.
When it comes to rifles, you can select between single shot or repeating models. Naturally, the Sharps model is one of the most popular single shot options. They also offer the Rolling Block, Model 1885, Trapdoor, and some Muzzle Loader options. Whatever option you go with, attention to detail is always a must, ensuring you get an accurate reproduction.
For the repeating rifles, you can expect a lever action option that suits your needs. The 1860 Henry, Model 1873, Model 1892, and so many more are available for purchase. Each feature the distinctive looks that keep them historically accurate. If you want something more unique, you might consider the revolving carbine, which uses a revolver action with a carbine stock and longer rifle barrel.
Cimarron offers a variety of shotguns available including pump action models, lever action models, and side-by-side double barrel models. One of their most popular options is the 1883/1899 series. This model does not actually recreate a specific model from history, but instead represents those qualities that were common during that time period. This starts with a double barrel construction and a quality-built wood stock.
If you do want a specific reproduction model, you might be interested in the 1887 series lever action or the 1878 Hammered model. Regardless of what options you look for, you can be assured that you are always getting a top quality reproduction that will get the job done right.
If you want something movie-specific, you might want to consider the Hollywood series offered. This includes specific models used in popular movies over the years. One such model is the Man w/No Name SAA, which gives the classic model used in the famous wester. They also offer a Doc Holiday Thunderer, which includes the revolver and knife combo with the pearl grips. For those who want something a bit more modern, you might be interested in the Terminator shotgun, which is based on the 1887 lever action from The Terminator.
As you would expect, Cimarron also offers a variety of accessories for sale. This helps you find exactly what you need to get the best shooting experience available today. From extra parts for your new firearm to display cases, you should be able to get exactly what you need to really show off your new collection piece. Of course, it wouldn’t be an old west reproduction if you didn’t have the right amount of leather, which is why Cimarron also specializes in providing a variety of leather belts and holsters to ensure you get that truly authentic feel.
