The Polymer80 PF940C is a kit which contains everything you need to make your own Glock 19 Gen 3 compatible frame from an 80% receiver. The ATF says it’s not a gun until over 80% of the work has been completed, meaning you are the actual manufacturer of the firearm once it’s done. But is this worth the hassle of having to do some real labor? How much labor is required? Starting with this unboxing and continuing in future videos, we take a hard look at the PF940C to answer these questions and more.
Hey, Andrew here from Omaha Outdoors and I wanna show you something cool: it’s the Polymer80 PF940C. This is an 80% Glock lower – it’s a frame that you make yourself, using this orange jig. Now the PF940C fits Glock gen 3 slides so, you will remove this part up here, you remove this part up here, you’ll drill out some pin holes, and you’ll make a clearance area for the recoil spring assembly, and then you’ll have a functional gen 3 Glock pistol frame.
Let’s compare it with a regular Glock gen 3 pistol frame. You’ll note we have a double undercut on the trigger guard here, we have a scalloped area for the magazine release, a different texture on the frame – they may also make what’s called a Ready Mod version, which is smooth so you can do the texture yourself. We have an extended beavertail, and finally, up here, a picatinny rail instead of the Glock universal rail. And, last but not least, no finger grooves for those of you who don’t like the finger grooves.
This looks like it’s gonna be a really fun project. Also included in the box we have some drill bits and an end mill bit. We have the stainless steel rear end module, and the stainless steel locking block. For instructions they include this card that says “go to Polymer80 dot com, forward slash how dash to” (www.Polymer80.com/how-to); you can go there for updated instructions. We are going to be making a follow up video in which we mill it out ourselves, make it into a gun – we assemble it, and then we test fire it – so be sure to subscribe for that.
If you’d like to order these online we have them in both the Ready Mod and the textured versions and we have them in black, flat dark earth, and OD green. Be sure to subscribe for our follow up videos, you can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Thank you for watching.
