About Battle Arms Development

Officially launched July 4th, 2009, B.A.D. is an American minority-owned small business specializing in research and design of firearm parts. They work to meet and exceed all military specifications, providing weapon parts that will allow you to build the newest and best rifle available today. Having multiple patents pending and some already granted, they use advanced research to provide the highest quality parts. Though they are still relatively young, they are already resetting standards in the industry.

Upper Receiver

Battle Arms Development works with a billet upper receiver designed using their latest technological advances to provide a reliable platform for even the most serious of applications. Every part of this upper is made in the USA, ensuring you get the absolute top quality parts and materials with every component built. It starts with a precision CNC from billet 7075-T6 Aerospace aluminum to provide a solid construction without the heavy weight of steel. It uses a M4 feed ramp and provides machined T-marks. To give the upper more strength and resilience to the elements, it uses a hard anodized finish in flat black. As you would expect, the upper is compatible with all Mil-Spec parts, ensuring you can use it to replace your current upper or start a new build based around this lightweight and durable design.

Lower Receivers

For lower receivers, Battle Arms Development offers both a premium forged lower and a lightweight billet option to round out the selection. In an effort to offer only the best, they make a promise to deliver the best in heat treatment and quality forging to provide a quality design. The forged lower starts with 7075-T6 Aluminum alloy. It uses an ultra-precise wire EDM cut magwell for consistency and reliability.

The receiver is precision reamed to size holes for the pivot pin, takedown pin, hammer pin, trigger pin, and safety selector, ensuring a perfect fit without any margin for error. Prior to applying the hard coat anodizing, the weapon is bead blasted and undergoes an acid etch to provide a uniform finish and ensure the best in corrosion resistance. The lower's safety selector hole is machined with a relief cut to provide a "short throw" ambidextrous safety selector.

If you want something lighter in weight, the LW billet receiver is the better option to select. It offers a patent-pending lightweight design and uses the same quality materials as the upper. Made with precision CNC from billet 7075-T6 aerospace aluminum, it provides that lightweight feel while still remaining extremely durable. It uses a flared, deep beveled magwell and all sharp edges are de-burred by hand.

Upper / Lower Sets

For those looking to build a new rifle from the ground up, you might consider just getting the upper and lower set together. This option is offered with both the billet upper and lower, providing a lightweight foundation for your rifle. It comes with the core components to get your rifle started and weighs in at a light 13.15 ounces overall. From there, you simply need to purchase the other necessary components, such as the barrel, buffer tube, stock, etc. Since these parts are mil-spec compatible, you also have the option of simply purchases these parts and swapping out your current bill for these lighter and more durable options.

Magazines and Other Components

Of course, in addition to carrying the uppers and lowers you will need, we also keep a variety of magazines and other components in stock to ensure you can get the build just right. These include helpful components such as magazine release buttons (standard or extra-large options), buttstocks, takedown & pivot pins, and BAD ASS safety selectors. These different components can be worked into your existing rifle build to make improvements or they can be used to build a new rifle that best suits your specific needs.

Additionally, B.A.D. manufactures its own rifle barrels. These ultra-match Lightrigid barrels come in either 14.5" or 16" sizes and are made from 416R Stainless Steel to provide the best construction. They utilize a 1:8 twist to provide the best in accuracy and are made using a proprietary in-house manufacturing process. The result is a .223 Wylde (5.56 NATO or .223 Rem) barrel with a 6-groove ultra-precision rifling for the best in accuracy.
