Upgrade your next Smith and Wesson trigger with Apex Tactical, from Omaha Outdoors, in order to get the most out of your handgun. Smith and Wesson is one of the best known brands in the United States and they're a brand known for quality, but any mass produced handgun is going to be built with a wide variety of consumers and design parameters in mind. In addition, mass production does not lend itself well to fine tuning the qualities of trigger weight, pull quality, and tactile reset that shooters are known to prefer.
Enter Apex Tactical, long known for their superb action modifications for S&W revolvers like the Smith and Wesson 627 V-Comp trigger upgrade, and the breakthrough success they've achieved in turning the stock Smith & Wesson M&P pistol trigger from "meh" to "wow." By designing the components as drop-in upgrades made to extremely high tolerances, Apex Tactical skips the problem of having to "tune" the pistol to get satisfactory performance. Instead, outstanding performance can be had with simple and easy modifications which have been tested and used in many thousands of handguns.
Apex Tactical took note of the new M&P M2.0 version of the line of M&P pistols and immediately tested the new guns as well as checking parts commonality. Conveniently, the internals of the M&P M2.0 in 9mm and 40 S&W are similar enough to their predecessors that many of the Apex Tactical trigger modifications like the duty/carry action enhancement kit and the Apex Grade semi drop-in barrels which have become famous as a near necessity in terms of required upgrades to the original Smith and Wesson M&P pistols. Some products designed for the original M&P such as the Apex Tactical forward set sear kit do not fit in the new M&P M2.0, but Apex is developing new versions of those popular upgrades.
For owners of the original M&P pistols, Apex Tactical has opened the floodgates in terms of modifications. From minor mods like the Apex RAM (reset assist mechanism) which allows the shooter to feel that the trigger is ready to fire again to complete overhauls of the pistol including threaded match barrels, aluminum triggers in various colors, spring kits, Forward Set Sear and Trigger kits, and more, Apex Tactical has become the... wait for it... apex destination for Smith & Wesson modifications.
The most common complaint shooters had regarding the original M&P pistols was that the trigger lacked crispness and any sort of tactile reset. Whereas a quality 1911 trigger felt like breaking a glass rod, the original M&P trigger in stock configuration felt like trying to break a soggy mass of Chex Mix. Apex put the M&P trigger on a gluten-free diet and greatly improved not only trigger pull weight and the quality of the break but the feel of the trigger itself, replacing the hinged safety trigger with an inset trigger safety. For reset, the Apex RAM is well known to provide much more confidence via better communicating the position of the trigger to the shooter.
Although they are best known for Smith & Wesson mods, Apex also makes triggers, forward set sear kits, action enhancement kits, base pads, and other components for Glock, Walther PPQ, Sig Sauer, and more - even hammers for the 1911.
If making your handgun more accurate and easier to shoot is a priority for you, Apex Tactical needs to be at the top of your list for replacement and upgrade pistol components.
