Aimpoint 9000 red dot sights for sale at Omaha Outdoors are the perfect choice for hunters and sporting rifle owners in need of a comprehensive short-range sighting solution visible in all lighting and weather conditions for engagements with animals in thick brush or dense forests. Based on the highly successful Aimpoint Comp line of sights in use by military forces around the world, the 9000 series includes the 9000SC, 9000L, and 9000SC-NV. All 9000-series optics use a 30mm tube, meaning 30mm rings in the proper height and base configuration for your rifle will allow you to mount this excellent optic. At a medium brightness setting, each of these optics offers 50,000-hour battery life – that's over 5 years of continuous use!
The largest 9000 series optic is the Aimpoint 9000L. It's meant for long-action or magnum rifles where the added length of the tube can be used to bridge the ejection port of the rifle as well as add mounting strength and resistance to loss of zero through length. It's the most popular of the 9000 optics because it can also be used on short action rifles if desired. Available with 2 dot sizes, 2 MOA and 4 MOA, you will be able to choose between slightly more precision and a slightly more visible dot. One advantage to the 2 MOA optic is that if you don't need max brightness but do need a bigger or more visible dot, you can simply turn up the brightness in order to make the dot appear larger to your eye. However, once you get to max brightness, you might still find the dot harder to pick up than the 4 MOA depending on your vision and the amount of background light. If hunting in snow, the desert, or any other extremely bright environment is likely, the 4 MOA dot is recommended.
A slightly shorter and lighter sight is the 9000SC. Compared to the 9000L, it's lighter at 7.4oz instead of 8.1, and the max distance between the rings is 4 ½" instead of 5 11/16". Correspondingly, it's meant for use with short action rifles or handguns where the added length of the 9000L is not necessary or would be too bulky. Otherwise, it offers all the same benefits as the 9000L, sharing its extreme resistance to heat, cold, water (both are submersible to 5 meters), shock, vibration, and chemicals.
The 9000SC-NV is a variant of the shorter 9000SC with the first four brightness settings modified to be night vision compatible, although it is still fully usable in the daytime and in full light. Because night vision greatly amplifies light, the 9000SC-NV is only available in 2 MOA configuration, as you would see too much reticle bloom with the 4 MOA. Otherwise, it is identical to the other 9000 series optics and offers the same benefits and features. Find all Aimpoint optics for sale here.
