Though many individuals understand what goes into making a quality rifle, few have the facilities at their disposal to actually create it. In a perfect world, you might be able to build your own rifle from the ground up, using your own workshop to produce all the right parts. Of course, most people simply cannot afford the equipment required to make all the necessary parts. Instead, you rely on a good machining shop to make the components and then you can assemble them. Or, you might just prefer to order a completed rifle and save yourself the hassle. In either case, you want to work with the highest quality option on the market if you expect to have the reliability you need. When it comes to quality, VLTOR is definitely a company that delivers.
Proud to partner with VLTOR and offer these quality products, Omaha Outdoors makes sure to keep a variety of these items in stock and ready to ship. By doing so, we allow you to benefit from some of the fastest shipping times in the industry, saving time from when you place your order to when you receive the new items. Regardless of what you are looking for, our goal is to make your shopping experience as painless as possible. With this in mind, please feel free to pick up your phone and call one of our service representatives. We look forward to assisting you and sending your new VLTOR items.
Built From Humble Beginnings
When it began operations in 2001, VLTOR could never have predicted how quickly it would grow. As a small operation starting out of Idaho, it looked to provide quality firearm parts for the modern shooters at a reasonable price. Of course, by 2004 sheetmetal and CNC machining company Abrams Airborne Manufacturing, Inc. recognized the potential of this smaller company and decided to purchase it. Under the ownership of this large and capable manufacturing facility, VLTOR found itself better able to produce quality products across a wide variety of firearm parts and components. Today, they have grown well beyond their original offerings and even provide complete firearms for the modern operator to choose from.
Building on the KeyMod Rail System
There is no denying that accessories are integral part of the battle rifle combat system. Whether you just use a couple key components or you outfit your rifle with a wide variety of these items, you need to have the right rail system in place if you hope to keep yourself on target in the field. With that in mind, VLTOR identified the KeyMod system as a great way to keep your equipment organized without adding unnecessary weight when you don’t need it.
For those who want to build their own system from the ground up, you will want to start with a CASV-KM handguard. Built as a drop-in option for your battle rifle, this AR-style rail system is made from aircraft grade aluminum to give you the right combination of low weight and high strength construction. It can be installed without any special tools and simply “piggy-backs” onto the upper receiver of your favorite rifle for an easy fit. The standard system comes with a 5 piece picatinny rail kit, which may be all you need if your equipment load out is light. Of course, if you do need more, you can also pick up separate CASV rail sections. Coming in 2”, 4”, or 6” sizes, these offers a mil-standard 1913 rail design, allowing you to attach any equipment you might need. They also utilize a type III anodized hard coat finish, making them tough enough to stand up to the elements.
Work With A Complete VLTOR Rifle
Those who prefer to purchase a brand new rifle might want to work with the 5.56 NATO chambered VWS-XVI Warrior. With the foundation starting with quality VLTOR made upper and lower receivers, this weapon looks to become your number one option in the field. Built around a Noveske chrome lined 16” barrel, this gives you a fairly standard battle rifle configuration that will perfect at the high level you need. It utilizes a Geiselle DMR trigger to provide smooth and consistent performance in the field. It operates on a VLTOR low profile gas block, which gives you the reliable performance you would expect.
To finish it off, it calls for a standard VLTOR charging handle, A2 flash hinder, castle nut, and endplate. Those who prefer a SBR might instead turn to the VWS-IX Warrior, which uses a 9” barrel and provides Diamondhead front and rear sights for accurate aiming. The VWS Praetorian is another great option to consider. Like their other battle rifles, it comes chambered in 5.56 NATO and utilizes an advanced VLTOR upper and lower to provide a quality construction option.
Add on A Quality Bipod
Once you have your rifle in order, you might also consider adding on some additional accessories to help in the field. Among those accessories, a good bipod can help take your weapon from a close quarters rifle to a long distance machine you can trust in the field. The MP-1 MODPOD is one of the company’s oldest products but continues to be a best seller today. Its legs rotate the full 360 degrees and offer 90 degree locking angles. They can be used on your standard rifle and are also rated to handle an M203 Grenade launcher.
Finish With the Right Muzzle Device
In addition to these options, VLTOR also makes custom muzzle devices made specifically for your needs. Beyond just the 5.56 NATO chambering, these devices can offer use for a variety of calibers you might use, making them a great option if you need to adjust your current configuration. The compensators and flash hinders are both heat treated for toughness and provide exceptional performance in the field when you need them most.
Find The Rest of The Accessories You Need
Of course, there are a lot of different parts that go into making a good battle rifle. Even if you rely on a professional for more intensive maintenance, it is important that you understand how these parts work and are able to field clean and lube the weapon regularly. With that in mind, you might just want to pick up some extra cleaning supplies online. Additionally, you can find those replacement springs, lock nuts, plates, and all variety of other items you might need to replace or that you might want to replace to add an aftermarket part. Whatever the case might be, you should be able to find that online.
To make this easier, Omaha Outdoors has been organized in the simplest way possible. Our storefront was built with shooters in mind, providing a quick way to sort through the various options and narrow down your choices. Naturally, you might still have questions, so don’t fret. If you do, simply pick up the phone and give us a call directly –we are always happy to help.
Either way, shop with confidence. We look forward to sending your new VLTOR items and hope you come back soon.
