A firearm can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. For someone in the military, a firearm is a tool for vanquishing enemies, one that needs to stand up to the heat of the battlefield and offer versatility under pressure. For law enforcement, it is a tool for peacekeeping, one they rely on to protect themselves and the community. A hunter looks towards a gun as a way to put food on the table or perhaps to collect a new trophy. Even the average citizen has a use for these guns, finding that they serve as the best way to keep their family safe from harm.
Of course, shooting doesn’t always have to be concerned with protecting your family from harm or simply hunting to put food on the table. Instead, there are those times when you shoot purely for the enjoyment or purchase a firearm just to have a nice conversation piece around the house. For those times, you may want to consider getting yourself a Ruger Vaquero. Designed to look just like one of those Old Western revolvers you love from your favorite movie and still able to perform when you need it, this revolver is sure to make an excellent addition to any collection.
Straight from the Old West
Made to match that Old West style, the Ruger Vaquero uses traditional western-style hand-filing grips, which many feel is the most comfortable option out there. It also uses a large, crescent-shaped ejector rod, which follows the traditional form and enhances that cowboy look. Building on this further, Ruger opted to use a patented reverse indexing pawl, which allows for easier loading and unloading, while the beveled cylinder makes holstering a breeze. Of course, just because it looks like it is from the Old West, doesn’t mean it lacks any performance features. It includes a cold hammer-forged barrel, which provides some of the most precise rifling and leads to exceptional accuracy. Safety is also addressed thanks to the patented transfer bar mechanism and loading gate interlock, which provides an unparalleled measure of security against accidental discharge.

Of course, if you want even more, the SASS model is the way to go, as this offers two consecutively numbered revolvers, each using a Montado-style hammer and ready to deliver.
